NEW SCHOLARSHIPS PROVIDED. [United Peess Association.] Wellington, Doc 13; At the St Patricks- College prize distribution to-night Dr Kennedy, the rector, announce*! the result of the competition for the two College entrance scholarships of £20 a year each for four years, offered through the generosity of Mr Martin Kennedy. These scholarships have been won brv Patrick Hanrah'an, of Ashburton, anil • John Hally, of the Marist school at Wellington. • It was announced that; through the generosity- of another Wellington Catholic gentleman, whose identity is not disclosed, the College is able to offer a number of new scholarships, not as entrance scholarships, but to be I gamed l>y students of the College itself. Th© sum of £40 or £50 would be. available annually, and it was intended to dividb it into four or fire scholarships of £10 each.
