A Wellington .press wire states that Mr W. H. Ferris has baen appointed chief, hemp expert to the Agricultural Department. Mr'O. W. Hanby, editor of the "Evening Mail,"is at present absent from his duties, on holiday. ■■ ■ ' Mr A. R. Mr Percy Augustus Baigent has been appointed a member of the Wakefield Domain Board in the place of the late Mr Henry Wratt. The re^appointment of Mr John Stuart Wratt as a member of the Nelson Land Board, as from the 2nd September, 1910, is gazetted.
