FOOTBALL.

(From "The Colonist,' 5 April IS.) The annual meeting of the; Nelson Referees' Association was hold ou Friday night, Mr Oldershaw presiding. The election of officers resulted asfollows:—Mr Cooke, chairman; 'Mr Cannington, vice-chairman; Mr G. Batchelor, secretary and •treasurer; examination committee, Messrs Oldershaw, Cooke, and Logan; appointments committee, Messrs Oldershaw, Cooke, Cannington, Shrimpton, au-J Logan. Classification .oommittee-, Messrs Oldershaw, Cooke, Logan, N alder, and Batchelor. The following new members wero elected:— Messrs L. Estcourt, JHeriry, Ilesseltine, G. Stapp, and R. Goodman. It was resolved to send a i«tter thanking the' Wellington Association for the kindness displayed to thu Nelson delegate. * A presentation of a, case of pipe« was mado to Mr Batchelor in recognition of his long and valuable services as secretary. The gift was suitably , acknowledged.
