Tho Stoke Rifles fired tho eighth competition for the cup' and secondclass medals last Saturday on the Brightwater nuigci, when Private Woollett secured top place with 88 points, which gives him his third leg- j in for the Kaiapoi Woollen Company's trophy, and it now becomes his own property. Tho weather conditions were very tricky, and the wind was changing as quickly as lightning, and puzzled all the marksmen. Ten shots were fired at 500 and 600 yards.
