NELSON HOOKEY ASSOCIATION,

A general meeting of the Nelson Hockey Association was held at Mercer's rooms on Monday evening. Mr F. Harford occupied the chair. Mr H. R. Duncan, who had been reelected president of the Association at the annual meeting, wrote regretting his inability to accept the position owing to his intended absence from Nelson during the season. — General regret was expressed ; and a motion to that effect was unanimously carried. The following ladies' clubs' were admitted: TaJl-wen, Hope, Stanley Brook and Takaka.

The following entries were received for the men's senior championship: Motueka, Federal, Maitai, Nelson, Stoke, and Y.M.I, clubs. — Richmond wrote regretting being unable to enter. For the men's junior championship teams from the Motueka and Nelson clubs were entered. _

Ladies' championship entries were received from the following clubs: Wakatu, Wainui, Thistles, Motueka, Kia Ora, St John, Cabragh House, Tal-wen and College. It was resolved that all men's senior fixtures be played on Saturdays, Maitai Club thereupon asked leave to , withdraw from the senior competition j and play junior. It was decided th"at entries for a junior competition among the ladies' clubs be called for, entries to close within a week.
