RfiTCNTS OF THE INQUIRY,
Sydney, April 19. The owners of the wrecked Countess of Ranfiirly wished to have the inquiry held here, but it transpires that a preliminary inquiry was held by the British Consul at Noumea, and that functionary, finding the vessel regißtered at Auckland, sent the result of the inquiry to that port. . The local Superintendent of Navigation doubts whether he has jurisdiction, but is making inquiries to see whether he can had an investigation to save the expense of the officers and crew having to proceed to Auckland.
