A BANK BESIEGED.

(Received April 19, 9.25 p.m.) London, April 19. There was a wild scrahmble for rubber shares at the Chartered Bank o£ /ndia, which are the bankers of four of the companies issued yesterday. The bank was besieged for two hours by men, women and boys, and pandemonium reigned inside, despite the cashier's assurances that the lists had closed a few minutes after opening. The 2s shares of one company rose to 16s during the day.
