STRIKE OF BUTCHERS.
TROUBLE AT FREEZING WORKS: Brisbane, April 16. Butchers employed by. the Queensland Meat Export Company at the Redbank freezing works, and at Birt and Company's freezing works, have struck. ..-.-'•: , The trouble has arisen over a demand by the Federated Meat Workers' Union for a new wages log. The Wages Board recently gave the men an increase of 20 per cent, but it is stated that the Union demands.a further increase of about 30 per cent. Several hundred, man are out, and it is feared that the trouble will spread.
