RiddelljiS'.M' at the Magistrate's Court, after hearing evidence in two cases that, Thomas Henry Hughes Alffom George Sutton-, and Francis Walton Williams had been participating in a game of "hazard." Each defendant was. ; finM £2, with costs Bs, in default seven days'^ imprisonment. Constable Collery gave details of the arrest of the men, who werei playing' on the ferry wharf, opposite the Sailors' Best;; The three defendants were participating, and Sutton "had money in his lia).d.s. > Further evidence was given to tlie effect that Hughes resisted considerably. A dice box and some money, including a half sovereign, and a quantity of small coins were seized by the witness and his fellow officers.
