- UNIVERSITY SUCCESSES. Official intimation Has been .received of the f ollowiilg successes of present and old pupils of Nelson College m the last examinations conducted by the New Zealand University : — R. H. Quilliam, a pupil of the feollege passed the-first section of the examination for the LL.B. 'degree, and .is staying on at the College with a view of taking the final examination at tho end of this year. , A gratifying testimony to the thoroughness of the work done at the College is given by the award of a Senior University Scholarship in Latin io R.H. Out of eight applicaJits for the two free return pasjages to Europe, offered annually by the Orient Steamship Company, and the Huddart-Parker Company, selection was made^of E. J. Wilson. Mr Wilson' was an unsuccessf nl candidate at tlie recent Rhodes Scholarship election.
