DISSATISFIED SETTLERS.

BRITISH COLUMBIANS DESIRE

TO EMIGRATE,

[Prkbs Association— Oopybiciht.J

London, April 12. Some settlers in British Columbia have communicated with Sir J. W. Taverher, Agent-General for Victoria, stating that they desire to emigrate owing to the rigorous nature of the Canadian climate and ask on what terms Victoria will grant land, to bo worked co-operatively, and probably held collectively. .They estimate that they number a thousand families, and they add that they have no desire to speculate in land, and that economy is the only reason for co-operation. Sir J. W. Taverner has replied that the Victorian delation will probably be returning via Canada, and meanwhile he is advising his Government of the proposals made by the settlers.
