IMPERIAL GOVERNMENT'S POSITION.

Mr MacKinnon, Wood, Under-Secre-tary of the Foreign Office, replying to Mr Douglas Hall, said the Egyptian Government's intention to abide by the Assembly' s decision " was reached after consultation with Sir Eldon Gorst # and with his consent, but the Imperial Government was nowise influenced by the decision not to extend tho concession. The British Government's interest in the Canal Company would terminate with the concessions. .. 'I
