London, April 11. An active campaign against the Lords' veto is being carried on by the Liberals in London. Many meetings were held in the parks at the week end, and others are being arranged. It is proposed to secure a largely signed petition to the Premier supporting his action. Twenty anti-veto ' demonstrations were held in Devonshire on Saturday Lord Ampthill, speaking at Bedford said the Government of the country was in the hands of unscrupulous and adventurous demagogues so puffed up with pride of place that thef were willing to pufc the constitution into the melting pot and play up with the finaces in order to throw the onus of the resulting chaos on the Lords. Mr Wm. O'Brien declares that he will meet on the floor of the House Mr Lloyd George's astounding denial of a letter of advice.
