Mr C. E. Stickbury, of the head office staff of the Government Life Insurance Department at Wellington, is relieving the local resident, agent , who is on leave.

Mr F. D. Morris, of the Deeds Office, who is under transfer to New Plymouth, was entertained by the law clerks of Nelsoti last night prior to his departure, and was presented with a token of their esteem arid regard.

A Sydney cable staies that the Hon. J. A. Millar has completed his investigation of the Queensland railway system, and has gone to Melbourne and Adelaide, to conduct a similar inquiry.
