THE MAYORAL ELECTION.

MR PIPER'-S CANDIDATURE,

A well attended meeting of Mr Piper's executive committee and supporters was held in the Co-operative rooms last evening, Mr Grace acting as chairman. Satisfactory reports of progress were handed in by canvassers, and numerous promises of additional support were received. A strong general committee was formed including the namec of many ladies. The Chairman reported that a number of names had been placed on the roll and considerable further additions were expected to be made to-day. Resolutions were passed' concerning tne completion of canvass of electors, engaging of rooms for election day, .-nd other business.
