SECOND DAY. [United Pkess Association.] Christchurch, March 29. Tho weather conditions for the second day of the Canterbury Jockey Club's autumn meeting were much improved, and the course was in capital order. The attendance was good, and the racing was extremely interesting. The totalisator investments amounted to £12il80. The results were : — \ Peers-wick' Hurdles, of 150 soys: Southern Cross 1, Whatakura 2, Nova 3. Also started, Ratepayer and Loyola. Won by a neck. Autumn Nursery -Handicap, of 300 soys: Danube 1, V ice-Admiral 2, Formless 3. Also started, Countermine, Selene, Ivora, Acrostic, and Odessa. Won by half a length. Yaldhurst Welter Handicap, of 250 soys: Perle dOr 1, Rose Noble 2, Rpstori 3. Also started, Sir Frisco, Zetland, Fisticuff, Gold Braid, iirasenose, Luperin, Shillelagh, and Inchbonny. Won by a head. Gold Braid was left at the post, his rider (11. Donovan) being fined £10. Great Autumn Handicap, of 1000 soys : Outlander 1, Bridge 2, Oiyoi 3. Also started, Gold Lace. Diabolo,Husbandman, Prim,, Ingodo, Waipaku, Tikitere, Osiris, Guianaforte, Genius, and Gunboat. Tikitere was first into the straight, but at the distance Outlander drew out and stalling off a strong run by Bridge, . won by a neck; Oiyoi was- three-parts of ft length back, with Diabolo fourth. Addington Plate, of 100 soys: Fasliakyle 1, The Seer 2, Sapience 3. Also started, Ecarte, Nightlight, Vinco, Susa, and Wiudrush. Won by a length. The winner was bought by Mr H. Friedlander'for £160. Eighteenth Challenge Stakes, of 650 soys: Armlet 1, Formby 2, Madam Madcap 3. Also started Broadsword and Crown Derby. Won by two lengths. Templeton Handicap, of 300 soys: Effort 1, Penates 2, Queen of Spades 3. ' Also started, Tumut, Killindini, Flitaway, Federal, Boanerges, Cute, Silkweb, Gipsy Bplle, and Zenlia. Won by a length and a half. ' Final Handicap, of 250 soya: LoveJoni 1, Kilwiuning. 2. Cronuadt 3. Also started, Gwendoline, Ail Guns, White Cockade, Boutade, GoLl Braid, Shindy, and Pretty Nell. Won by a head, and the same between the ■second and third horses.
