MILITARY TRAINING GROUNDS.
THE SELECTION COMMISSIONERS. [Unitjsu Press Association.] Christchurch, March 29. The Prime Minister, who arrived here this morning, states that Mr W. C. Kensington (Under-Secrctary for Lands), Mr J. Strauchon (Chief Surveyor, Wellington), and Colonel H. D. Tuson (member of the Defence Council) have been appointed as a commission to go through both Islands and make' the selection of training grounds (one for each Island)^ required for. the training of Territorials. The training grounds are required independently of the recommendations made by Lord Kitchener in connection with the area system. These grounds will require to be sufficiently large to enable complete training to be carried out in all branches of tho service, including gunnery. The commission, of which Mr Kensington has been appointed the chairman, will commence its work at an early date.
