Some of her belongings were afterwards found in a chimney above a grate which the police saw him painting when they first visited the flat. Polter disappeared, but was arrested later. London, March 28. Tho ''Daily Mail's" New York correspondent says it is alleged that numbers of girls visited the flat. It is a sinister coincidence that fifteen c girls seeking clerkships have disap- - peared in the last few weeks.
