SUICIDE OF A YOUTH.

Invercargill, March 22. . Sydney Harrison, a youth of 18 years, employed in the Government Life Insurance Department, shot him- • self in the right temple with a revolver last -evening, and died an hour > later. The cause of the suicide is un- ; known. l ■ Later. At the inquest on the youth Ha-rri- \ son, who shot himself last night, a fel- } low boarder named Spriggs gave evidence that deceased had frequently '■ talked about shooting himself, and that witness had hidden his rifle. A verdict was returned of suicide while temporarily insane. Spriggs was censured for not having informed about deceased's threats to kill himself.
