A.M., arrived last night with his trainer, Mr Gus Arnier, and will start at one© to train for his forthcoming attempt. to break tho world's record for continuous piano playing, which stands at 61 hours 30 minutes. Mr Jas. Petherick has engaged Mr Travis at heavy expense to come . to Nelson and attempt this marvellous endurance test at the ' Druids' Hall, commencing on March 31st. Mr Travis is a pupil of Mons. Weigand, late organist of the Sydney Town Hall, and during his stay at the piano, Mr Travis will play all classes of music to suit the tastes of audiences ; therefore, those who like music, should attend and hear this brilliant young New Zealand pianist. Mr-Travis first established a record by defeating Cecil Healey, of Melbourne, after playing 36 hours; Percy Freeman, of Sydney, also gave up after 51 hours ; and Chas. Parnell, of Auckland, who played' for 52 hours, but Mr Travis kept going till he reached 60 hours, thereby establishing the world's record for continuous piano playing.
