STOCK REPORT.

Messrs Bisley Bros, and Co. report on the live stock' market as follows : — Sine© our last advice we have had large vardings, principally of sheep. From ~ fcho Bth of March to the 16th we have offered some 14,000 slieep, the bulk of which were cleared by public auction. Sales have been held at Korere, Richmond, Thorpe, TapawoTa, Kohatu and Wakefield. At each fixture the attendance has been large, with keen competition, the buyers being princioafly farmers, who owing to the, abundance of feed in all parts of the province competed keenly, especially for young ewes, forward lambs and wethers. Comparing, the values with last month all classes of sheep were advanced from Is to per head, and owing to the scarcity of sheep, we 'ook for further advances in values. The province appears scarce of good owes, and if the snine- strong demand continues it is possible that consignments will have to be m»dp to Nelson from other narts, t'J'pre V>"ing a good enquiry for Romnev Lincoln ewes, and scope in our oDinion for another ■50,000 upwards. The following are the current values which have been realis«d by public auction : Ewes, 8 tooth to failing mouth, 5s Bd, 6s 6d, to 7s 6d ; 4, 6, and 8 tooth, 8s 6d. 9s tolOs 3d ; *i and 4 tooth, 11s to 12s.
