Writing to Mr Morel, secretary of the Congo Reform Association, the Primate denies that he is satisfied with tho present position in the Congo. Ho says he was not merely disappointed, but rendered profoundly uneasy by Sir Edward Grey's speech, in the House of Commons. He adds: "It is impossible to share the Foreign Office's gentie optimismand chivalrous consideration., for the difficulties of the new sovereign. It does not relievo us of responsibility."
