MOTUEKA VALLEY SWIMMING CLUB.

(From "The Colonist," Feb. 14.) i The Motueka Vall&y Swimming Club held a successful sports meeting . at Tapawera on Friday, last. _ The day was an ideal one for acquatio sports, and a fair crowd from alt parts, of the district attended. Tha events were well contested and got off punctually: to time. Mr Evan Lanes Jones , was the successful competitor for the district championship, medal, and Mr F. Challies won the., medal for the 200] yards inter-club event. Both medals were generously given to the club by Mr F. Harford, and were presented, amidst hearty cheers, by Miss Contance Drummond. Mr D. Poole /won Messrs Brown and Kerr' s medal for the 50 yards club event. The, Tapawcra ladies kindly provided a liberal afternoon tea both, to competitors and spectators.
