[United Pbbss Association.] Auckland, Feb. 26. The Now Zealand athletic championship meeting was held to-day in torrents of rain. The officials xiocided to hold the- meeting because of the southern competitors, having to leave Auckland by to-morrow evening's express. The track was in conscquenco heavy, and generally the times were slow. D. Dilson, of Auckland, broke tlie New_,JSeaJaml amateur record of 22mins 37secs in the three mile walk, reducing it to 20niiiis 58 4-5 sees. There was a great <leal of discussion regarding the fairness of his walking. \Vxth the. assistance of a fairly strong breeze, Woodger ran the u2oyds in 21 4-6 sees, equal to an Australian record.
