Last and the previous weeks were busy ones, chiefly in respect to Lyell Cup matches, the competition lor which was to have closed on the 12th, but which has now been extended to the 22nd instant. On Saturday afternoon Tasker's rink defeated Kempthorne's by a narrow margin after an exciting finish. Afternoon tea was dispensed by Mrs J. G. Littlejolin. The following aro recent results in the various competitions : — Feather matches. — Lamb, Gould, Swiney, Tasker (s) 19, defeated Senn, Clayden, E. J. Allen, Kempthorne (s) 18. Ladder matches. — Lucas, Everett, Swiney, E. J. Allen (s) 17, defeated Jackson, Clutten, Warren, Tasker (s) 7 ; Chisholm, Hogg, Moyes, Heaps (s) 14, defeated Kerr, King, Mansford, Littlejohn (s) 11. I Senior championship. — De Castro beat Moyes; Dickson beat W. Rout. President's pairs. — Chisholm, Watt ' (s) defeated Wilmot and 15. J. Al- ( leu (s). This match was the first of the finals, and tho team scoring the best two out of three matches will bo the winnersi Vice-president's matches. — Cresswell beat Bond, Trask beat Houlken Lyell Cup.— Dr Hamilton beat Field, Dr Wright beat Dickson, Rout beat Senn, de Castro beat Jackson, Stiles beat Condell, Kempthorno beat Chisholm, E. J. Allen beat Trask, Warren beat Scott, Gould beat Menzies, Everett beat Hogg, Clayden beat Phillips, Heaps beat Lucas, Bond beat Leckiej Crawford, Mansrord, and R. Allan won games by default. ■ The green will be open to-day for play, and being a holiday, a large muster of players is expected. ,
