A NEW COAL COMPANY.
Sydney, Feb. l9. A company representing some of the loading shipping and colliery interests has been formed &\ Sydney to work a coal mine at Powlett river, Victoria, iiie company has secured 1400 acres near the Victorian State zone, and expects to start at an early date. Th« reason assigned for the formation of the company is that Victorian legislation is more favourable to mining operations a2id no bar is offered to the employment x of free labour, and therefore there is v loss risk of shipping and other industries being blocked in the event of strikes in other centres.
