THE COLLINGWOOD GALA.
SUCCESSFUL RACE MEETING. (From Our Own Correspondent.— .By Telegraph.) Collingwood, Feb. 18. The Collingwood races yesterday were an immense success, the attendance being a record. The fields were large, and the contests keen. The i Collingwood. Cup was won by Mr Me- ! Farlane's Edna, of Takaka. The meeting will result in a profit of about £40 to the club. General regret is felt that owing to recent legislation the meetings are likely to be discontinued. Collingwood, which has been en fete practically all the week ; is settling down to-day. Some residents intend to participate in the gubernatorial functions at Nelson on Monday.
