A FATAL FIRE.

Garterton, Feb. 18. A fatal fire occurred at Greytown last night, in which a little boy" aged two years- and two months, lost His life. The parents, named James, living in Humphrey street, were at a concert at the time, having left tho house and three children in charge of a daughter aged nine' years, ihrough some means "tho houso caught lire, and the three children, all girls, endeavoured to save their baby brother, but' were overcome with smoke, and had to leave " the building. The lire brigade was soon on tho scene, but the house, being old and very dry, was burnt down in a few minutes. The charred remains of the child were recovered from the ruins and removed to the Club Hotel, where an inquest will be held to-day.
