MINIATURE RIFLE RANGES. 1 STATEMENT BY THE HON G. FOWLDS. L United I'bess Association.] I Auckland, Feb 17. The- Hon G. Fowlds, Minister for Education, this afternoon presented to Bugler Morgan, of the Onehunga District High School Cadets, the champion belt and gold medal won by him as best cadet rifle shot in the Dominion. After congratulating Bugler Morgan on his fine performance, Mr Fowlds went on to refer to new features of cadet - work in the public schools. The Government', lie said, had recognised the- importance of teaching the' youth of the Dominion ] the use of the rifle, and to that end had encouraged the. establishment di : minature ranges on or near the school grounds. He hoped that before long all but the very small schools in the -Dominion would have their own miniature ranges.
