At the Supreme Court to-morrow a special case, will be argued in connection with a claim by the Board of Governors of Canterbury College; for compensation : to the extent of over £3000, in respect to portions of the Board's Craigieburn run taken by the Public Works Department for the purposes of the. Midland Railway. This special case .is for Uie- purpose >f determining some preliminary questions, of law as^to the Crown's viability to pay compensation for the whole or any part of the lands taken, and will be a preliminary ito 'further proceedings before the ■ Asa&ssinent Court.
