•The annual meeting of the Nelson Golf Club will be held in the Chanfber of Commerce rooms this evening.

Subscribers to the Julia Martin memorial portrait fund will bo doubt be largely represented at the ceremony at .the Art^Gallery, to which the public are invited on Mi>nd:>.v next at 4.30,0'c10ck, when His Excellency; the- Governor will 'unveil the large oil "painting of the late Huria Matenga,- 'which has been procured for the city from tne brush -of Mr G. Lindauer.the* well-known painter of Maori subjects.
