THE GOVERNOR'S RECEPTION.
The Executive Committee- met on Saturday evening, when there was a good attendance. His Worship the Mayor presided. Mr Shrimpton presented the report of the Procession Committee, winch was agreed to, and the time for the procession leaving the Oddtellows Jdall was iixed at i 0.30 a.m. The Mayor stated the Idlers'Association had notified that they had agreed to Monday, the 21st, being a "^S^GibbsandMr Worley would be in charge of the Public Schools Cadets, Messrs Knapp and Scott were asked to act as marshals for the school children. _ It was resolved to ask Mr Fowler to allow the College Cadets to take part in the procession. , Dr Wright was chosen as Master or Ceremonies at the functions. ■ It was reported that Mr H. faaunders' tender had been accepted tor the luncheon. It was resolved that the charge for the luncheon be ten shillings each. The charge includes wines, etc., except champagne. It was resolved that the toaßts at the luncheon be confined to three, namely, the King, the Governor, and ] the City and Trade of Nelson. It was resolved to procure 300 conversazione tickets, and 200 tickets and menu cards for the luncheois. The address to be presented to His Excellency was exhibited, and the members of the Committee were delighted with the magnificent specimen of skilled penmanship the lown (Jlerk had produced. Dr vVright said he had never seen better work produced in. England. Mr Edmonds 'was heartily thanked for his services connected therewith. S A vote of thanks to the Mayor brought the meeting to a close.
