SPEECH BY MR REDMOND.
VETO FIRST. {Received FeTTI, 9.45 p.m.) v London, tab 11. Mr Redmond, speaking at Duota. decided that sending the Budget to ?he House of Lords before dealing with the veto would give the whole case against the Lords away, disgust every British democracy and break u^shamedly explicit pledges outhe faith of which Ireland had promised her support. Mr Asquith had promised that he would never assume to retain^ office unless he, received assurances that he would be ab^e to curb the Lords' veto. If he wavered in his purpose or paltered witu'Ms pledges, Mr A*qur& would drive the Liberals into the wilderness ior twity years. The policy of passing the Budget and adjourning the «utstion-of the veto was one Ireland could not and would not approve. A short Cabinet council was held speaking at Camberwell said the Budget was going to become law in double quick tune.
