Mrs de Looze, wife of Mr B. B. de Looze, of the teaching staff of the Nelson School of Music, passed away yesterday morning after a brief illness. Mr and Mrs de Looze came from Timaru less than a year ago, and during their residence here have mado many friends. The deepest sympathy will be felt with the bereaved liusband, who is left with an infant daughter. The Rev. H. Bull, the well known Methodist minister, it is stated intends to retire next year/ when he will have completed forty-three ye?ra of service in the Methodist Churcn. At Blenheim the wedding is announced of Miss Emma. Mary ("Pink"), second daughter of Mr and Mrs Thomas Hail,' of "The Pines," and Mr Edward Gay Blick, of Seddon. Mr T. R. Roydhouse, editor-in-chief of the "Sunday Times," ' ".Referee," and "Arrow," Sydney, will be a visitor to New Zealand this month. Mr Roydhouse is the originator of the Boy Scout movement in Australia, and a member of the controlling body. Dr S. Brown, senior house surgeon of the Wellington Hospital, has resigned his position, in order to pay a visit to the Old Country for tne purpose of 'entering into research work there. The Bishop of Wellington (Dr Wallis) denies a report that ho intends to retire, and says he has not thought of such a step.
