•m The New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Wakanui will be the next ocean-going vessel to visit this port. She will load frozen mutton and general cargo for the London market about the 23rd instant. The Nelson Garrison Band will give a concert in the Botanical Reserve to-morrow (Sunday) evening, coniimencing at eight o'clock. A collection will be taken up in aid of the contest fund. The band will also play in the city this evening. Mr Frank R. Jeffreysj agent of youth of the Church Committee, will hold the services at the Pre.sbyterian Church to-morrow. The Richmond Brass Band will play at the Home for Defectives tomorrow afternoon. A garden party and. fete in connection with -, ,the .. Richmond Methodist Church will; be. held in Mrs Saywell's grounds on : Wednesday next. Among the attractions will be afternoon tea, sports, and a balloon flight. The harvest .thanksgiving. . services at St. John's Methodist Church will be held to-morrow by the Rev. J. J. Lewis. Subjects: Morning, ''Harvest Home" j evening, "The Bountiful Giver." The musio will be of a special . character, including Harvest Festival hymns. Thank-offerings on behalf of the Circuit Fund will be accepted.
