NELSON LAND BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the Nelson Land Board was held yesterday : Present: Mr R. T. Sadd (Commissioner), and Messrs Lynch, Sinclair, Walker, and Wratt. An application for occupation license with right of purchase by Andrew Aiidarsoi], section 8, block iii, Howard, ' 31)1 acres, was granted. Resolved that Grown Lands Ranger Harris bo appointed^, appraiser to value the fee simple of the land. Miscellaneous : Applications for essmption from residence : W. Arch. Gibbs, S.G.R. No. 6, Gordon. Granted during the pleasure of the Board ; Wm J. Gibbs, S.G.R. No 3 Gordon. Resolved that applicant be informed that lie must put the statutory improvements on the land before an application for exemption from residence can bo entertained by the Board. Resolved that the Board approve of the Commissioner's proposed adjustment of Mr Bredbury's claim for compensation, and that Mr C. Holman be given three months notice of the termination of iiis occupation license. Resolved to inform Mr Rogers that that Land Board has no power to reduce rentals on section 20, block v, Tutaki. A letter was read from Wm. N. Moore asking for suspension of payment of rent on section 18, block viii, Inaiigahua, for four years. Resolved to suspend tho Aomands* for payment of rent for two years. Mr E. Buim's occupation license section 26, square 170 (block i, Tutaki) was left iff the hands of the Commissioner to deal with. . A letter was read from James Smith re his application for L.I.P. of 1250 acres in blocks x and xiv, Takaka. Resolved that Mr Smith's boundary be sxtonded to the South in order to procure a good fencing lino. Pastoral run, Farewell Spit. Left in the hands of the Commissioner to -Jeal with. A letter was read from Norman A. Hewitt, applying for an additional area of 400 acres of section 10a, Wangapeka settlement. Application declined. Surrenders: 0.8.P. Melville D Jones section 12, block iv, Howard, 17 acres 3 roods. Declined, there being no provision in the Land Act for tbe surrender of O.R.P. licenses; O.R.P. H. G. Green, section 23, block vii, Tadmor, 38 acres. Ditto; -Town lease, Mary Moore, sections 1230 to 1233, town ot Reefton, la and 12 p. Surrender accepted ; L.I.P. Catherine Whale (nee McNamara), section 1, block xii, Maruia, 329 acres. Surrender accepted. Resolved to open this section on renewable lease at a capital value of 10s per acre, with an exemption from rent for four years. Transfers were dealt with as follows: O.L. Res E., block x, Kaiteriteri, 365, J. J. Lewis to J. Clark. Approved ; O.R.P. section 22, block vii, Wangapeka, 320 a, G. P. Price to C. G. Faulkner.
