Wellington, Feb 10. The following is the Rev. D. 0. Bate' • summary and forecast: — Fine weather has prev&«3d, but _a smart westerly storm area passed m the extreme south during Wednesday night, and rain squalls were also experienced further north. Moderate westerly winds now. prevail in the North Island and moderate to strong southerly in the South Island. The present indications are for fine weather generally with light and variable winds.
