HOKITIKA HARBOUR WORKS.

Mr Toogood, of Singapore^ was appointed engineer to the Hokitika Harbour Board to carry out works in connection with the proposed improvements to the harbour, at a "meeting of the Board held to-night, subject to certain arrangements of certain details. Tho works to be undertaken, involve an expenditure of £40,000,; and are in accordance with the recommendations of the late Sir J. Coode and Mr Arthur Bell, C.E., of Auckland. The appointment carries a salary of £600 per annum, in addition to private prac-, tice.
