In the Sackville Barony case claimant informed Mr Justice Bigham that since he is not allowed to fetch cviL dence from Spain to prove that Don Oliva was a bachelor, he must withdraw his petition, though it broke his heart. ! Sir Robert Finlay, K.C., for the de- . fence, replied on the whole case. He produced a copy of the certificate of . claimant's mother's marriage in 1851 ■ with Oliva. The copy was stamped, and the certificate was stamped in : 1854, and was found among the wo- ' man's papers. It was alleged that it accorded with the church register before the letter was tampered with, ' about 1900. 1 Judgment was reserved.
