It was resolved on the motion of Mr Karsten, seconded by Dr Wright, that His Excellency be invited to luncheon at the City Council chamber on Monday, February 21st. It was resolved that the' tickets for the luncheon bo five slrilliugs each. . It was resolved that Cr Turner, Dr Wright, and Mr A. Karsten be the luncheon committee. It was resolved that after the luncheon on the 21st, the Governor be driven to see the Colleges, the Alexandra Home, the Hospital, etc. Later in the afternoon of the 21st, His Excellency will unveil at the Art Gallery the memorial picture of the late Mrs Martin, and in the evening he will be entertained by the Masons, of which order the Governor is Right Worshipful Grand Master. On Tuesday forenoon, the 22nd, the Masons will take His Excellency for a drive, and in the afternoon he will be present at a garden party given by the Bishop of Nelson at Bishopdale. It was resolved on tho motion of Mr Bond, seconded by Cr Turner, that on Tuesday evening, the 22nd, a conversazione be held in the Provincial Hall. It was resolved that Cr Field, Dr Wright, Mr Hurley, and the Town Clerk be the committeo to arrango for the conversazione, the tickets to be two shillings each. Cr Turner was added to the committee for decorations. On the motion of Cr Lightband, the committee adjourned until eight o'clock on Saturday evening.
