A CONSTABLE CHARGED WITH ASSAULT.
[United Pbess Association.] Creymouth, Feb. 8. Constable W. Patrick Duune, formerly of Christohurch, but stationed here for a few.umonths, was committed for trial, ..being charged with assaulting Alfred Gibbens, mail express driver. On, the application of counsel a change of venue was ordered to i Hokitika. Bail was' allowed in a.very : small sum, as the Magistrate considered that, while a prima facie case had been made out, the charge was trivial.
