NEW ZEALAND'S PROSPECTS.
MR WADE'S VIEWS. [Press Association— Copyright.] Sydney, Feb. 5. Mr Wade, State Premier, interviewed, made guarded references to New Zealand affairs. On the no license, question, he said that the general opinion of unprejudiced persons seemed to be that in the country districts ■the effect-of no license on general so--1 briety was most marked. New Zealand was animated by a spirit of confidence with" regard to the; financial outlook, and the general opinion was that the worst of the financial tightness had passed away. ' There was strong evidence that the people had been induced to speculate and pay high prices for land, both in the cities and in the country; but the.. corner was said to have been turned, and as long as prices of produce were reasonably • maintained, there would be no fear of financial stress. t Mr Wade was not so cautious over his trout fishing experiences, and comes near being enthusiastic over the blessing New Zealand possesses in her . [ network of streams and trout.
