THE KNYVETT CASE.

. OBJECTION TO CABINET'S ACTION. A CIVIL ACTION THREATENED. [United Phms, .Association.] „ Auckland, Feb. 5. Interviewed yd regard to the intimation that the Cabinet has reconsidered ex-Captain Knyyett'a case, and has "no recommendation to make, Mr J. S. Dickson, the .chairman of the Knyvett case committee^ said .he was greatly surprised at the decision the Cabinet had come to. "It is cvi- j dent the whole thing was a farce,' said Mr Dickson, "and I will call a meeting of tho committee on- Monday next to lay the whole matter before our legal adViser. We intend to fight the matter to a finish, and will take it into the law courts. The Cabinet's decision comes as a thunderbolt' not alone to me, but I am sure the. Auckland public. I feel now' that Mr Knyvett has been"more unjustly treated than. ever. We risked "that the opportunity of thrashing the matter out should be given in a new. trial, and that request .has been re^ fused. It can now. be taken for granted that the whole of the facts will be adduced in the course of a civil action."
