Wellington, Feb. 4. The following is the llev. D. 0. Bftte's summary and forecast:— Moderate to strong westerly winds have prevailed, with fair weather. A squally westerly area of low pressure passed on Thursday night southward of New Plymouth and Napier. A more extensive area of westerly low pressure will probably follow; immediately, and there are indications for a falling barometer everywhere, and very low in the south. Rain is pro- ; bable shortly in most parts of the country. The winds will probably back to northerly everywhere Boon, and freshen, especially in the south.
