A CLERGYMAN'S BANKRUPTCY.
DISPUTES WITH CHURCH AUTHORITIES. [United Pbess Association.] Auckland, Feb 3. The statement of the affairs of Meredith Soule, of Kamo (Whangarei) who was lately adjudged bankrupt on _ a creditor's petition, has been filed with the Official Assignee. Bankrupt was formerly a Presbyterian pastor at Hikurangi, and Borne time ago he had law suits with the church authorities in regard to the disputed possession >>f an organ, and alleged arrears of stipend. In both cases he was unsuccessful. He states that while at Hikurangi his stipend was considerably in arrears, -and that his income was 'ess than £75 a year. His arrears amounted to about £100, but when he sued for this amount aud other monies said to bo due to him he was non-suited. The aabilities are shawn at £246, and the assets at £140, leaving a deficiency of £106. :
