SCHOOL BUILDINGS GRANTS.

[United Press Association.] Auckland, Feb. 2. At the meeting of the Board ot Education the chairman stated that the grant for the maintenance or school buildings had been reduced to £6286 from £7346. The reduction was announced after three-fourths ot tlie financial year had gone. It was resolved to inform the Minister tot ■■ Education that unless provision were made for a grant of at. least £UW for the next year, the Board would be unable to meet its legitimate charges for the maintenance or school buildings. Christchurch, Feb. 1.
