The Brindisi mail despatched from Wellington, on December 17th arrived at London on the morning of January 22nd. The annual picnic in connection with All Saints' parish Sunday schools will be held at Snowden's Bush, Brightwater, on Saturday next. Tickets are obtainable from M. and F. Cooke, Trafalgar street. The police are -investigating the theft of a considerable sum of money and some cheques taken from a cash box on the Nelson Club premises on Sunday last. ■ . A Press Association telegram from Wanganui says that the Gonville, Town Board decided last night to ask the ratepayers to sanction a loan of £10,000 for drainage, water, swimming baths, public hall, and other improvements. At Gisborne (says a "local paper) over 700 cases are to be dealt 'with by the Native Land Court.
