Mr Hal'dane matte an interesting announcement at the Kensington Town Hall concerning the King and the Territorials. "I, am glad to be able to announce," he said, "that Iris Majesty has graciously intimated his desire, on June 19th tt> present colors to ail battalions of the Territorial Force which have reached 75 per cent of their'strength. That presentation will be made at Windsor Castle. . ■ . ■ i "Owing to the large number of units which are likely to come up to the required strength, the presentation cannot be. made to tne entire force in all is strength, so it will be made, following precedent, to detachments, which will be selected by, the units to represent them in receiving and consecrating the colours which are to be their colours in the future, and colours which may some day lead them to victory. "It is just a year sincn the Territorial Force was formed. No one had better reasons than myself to realise the perils which beset the infant 1 life of the new force, and the diseases which many people predicted it would perish of, but the nprse jjut on a; bold frtmt on the ocasion, and was not sparing of assurance that all was going well.
