HOTEL DESTROYED.
Christchurch, April 5. ' '• The Waiau Hotel, which was crowds led, by visitors, was destroyed by fire on Sunday morning. Tliere were many '.riarow escapes, but no. lives were lost. Val Vousden, a well-known entertainer, jumped from the balcony, but he i escaped injury, with the exception of Slight burns on the body. No further details.are to hand.
