THE MISSING SCOW.

[United Pbess-Association.] • Wellington, March 31. " - There is no tidings as to the whereabouts of the jicow Rona, which left Wellington last Thursday with a salving party for the scene of the wreck of the Ben-Avon at Palliser Bay. Mr Bartolo Risso, the owner of "the vessel, and Mr S. Newson. a member of tho party which chartered her for the expedition, both scout the idea that sho has come to grief. Both are of the opinion that if she is not sheltering behind ono of tbe large rocks near where the Ben Avon struck, she has been beached at Kawakawa, an inlet jn Palliser Bay. They are of opinion that if the scow was driven upon the beach' the crew will be found, safe and sound, either at the Lighthouse, or at the sheep station ,where the survivors of the Zuleika sheltered until brought to Wellington by the Tutanekai. The R.dna left Wellington in charge of Mr Charles Wiesler, who holds a mate's certificate. Mr Glenville Barclay, a son of Mr Barclay, native interpreter., was ■ one of the salving party. Constables from" the Wairarapa are making a thorough search along the coast.
